About Miyazaki-en Tea
From the Meiji to the Showa era,
Miyazaki Tea was highly regarded as one of Japan’s three great teas — alongside Uji and Kawane.
However, in the Miyazaki region, where farmers cultivated tea in summer and worked in forestry during winter,
the import of inexpensive timber from overseas reduced demand for domestic wood.
As forestry declined, the number of tea growers also gradually decreased.
Even amid these changing times, Miyazaki-en has continued to preserve its legacy as a tea producer in the region.
Now, over 200 years since its founding, we still produce tea using time-honored, traditional methods.
Miyazaki Tea—a hidden treasure still little known to the world.
Born from a heritage rich in history and culture,
we invite you to experience our finest matcha and aromatic Japanese teas.
