About Miyazaki-en Tea

From the Meiji to the Showa era,
Miyazaki Tea was highly esteemed as one of Japan’s three great teas — alongside Uji and Kawane.

However, in the Miyazaki region, where farmers cultivated tea in summer and worked in forestry during winter,
the import of inexpensive timber from overseas led to a decline in domestic wood demand.
As forestry declined, the number of tea growers also gradually decreased.

Amid these changing times, Miyazaki-en continues to preserve its legacy as a tea producer in the region.
Now celebrating over 200 years since its founding, we still produce tea using traditional methods passed down through generations.
