About Miyazaki-en Tea
From the Meiji to the Showa era,
Miyazaki Tea was highly esteemed as one of Japan’s three great teas—alongside Uji and Kawane.
However, in the Miyazaki region, where farmers cultivated tea in summer and worked in forestry during winter,
the import of inexpensive timber from overseas led to a decline in demand for domestic wood.
As forestry declined, the number of tea growers also steadily decreased.
Amid such changing times, Miyazaki-en has continued to uphold its legacy as a tea producer in the region.
Now, over 200 years since its founding, we still craft tea using traditional methods passed down through generations.
Miyazaki Tea—a hidden treasure not yet widely known to the world.
Born from a tradition rich in history and culture,
we invite you to experience the finest matcha and aromatic Japanese tea from Miyazaki-en.
